Introducing New York's Newest Sports Team: The Rumble

New York City has a new sports team.

No, we are not talking about the Brooklyn Nets. That's old news.

We are talking about your favorite childhood sport, your dog's favorite hobby, the all-time park favorite: ultimate Frisbee!

The New York Rumble have arrived in the Big Apple and this is what they had to say about their upcoming season:

"New York has gained its newest professional sports team in the New York Rumble. The Rumble are a professional ultimate Frisbee team who will play their home games in Roosevelt Stadium at Union City High School in Union City, NJ. They are one of eight teams that will join Major League Ultimate (MLU), which is about to begin its inaugural season.

The MLU is comprised of two conferences, the Eastern Conference and Western Conference. The Rumble will play in the Eastern conference, which includes teams from Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Boston. The Western Conference features teams from San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver.

Even though the Rumble has the New York moniker, they have chosen to play their home games in New Jersey. "New Jersey is the birthplace of Ultimate – it helps remind the players of their roots while scoring in an end zone that catches a view of the New York City skyline. It seemed perfect," said GM Michelle Kondracki."

Plus, fans won't have long to wait to satisfy their Ultimate Frisbee craving. The Rumble play their first game on April 27th at 7pm against the Philadelphia Spinners.
